Dear Handmade folks,
You might finally be reading this from your favorite RSS reader! We’ve fixed our RSS feed not embedding the full content of newsletters.
Abner and I coincidentally took vacation at the same time, so we decided to skip last week’s newsletter. We’re back and feeling refreshed now!
Satelital: A Rule-Discovery Puzzle Game
The Handmade host for Tokyo Meetups is also an indie dev, and he’s finally announced Satelital! Read it in his own words:
“Satelital is a rule-discovery game about solving alien puzzles through observation and experimentation. Travel between six celestial bodies, each featuring a unique set of rules. Place symbols on a grid and study their interactions to learn how they work. Each puzzle introduces a new idea and expands on what you’ve learned before, without lengthy tutorials or explicit explanations. Listen to a calm ambient soundscape as you explore the cosmos at your own pace.”
Consider wishlisting the game and show him some love. This is a big big reason for the existence of Handmade Cities: encouraging our peers to become independent.
P.S. If you live in Tokyo or have friends there you can also attend their Saturday meetup.
Server Handoff Completed
Abner still had a handful of Handmade services under his private VPS… I met with him right before our respective vacations and lightly coerced him into handing them over.
Code for this services is currently in staging private repos, and I’ll clean them up over the next few days. A bunch of secret credentials were baked into the source, my hope is to fully scrub it before we let contributors get their hands on it.
As always, email me directly at u.g.a.mariano@gmail.com if you wish to help with our public roadmap.
Your server admin,
Mariano
