But we solved it! Long time no see everyone, I’m happy to be writing to you again.

As some of you might have noticed, Revolt went down for a semi-extended period of time today. The root cause was Hostinger throttling us, killing our VPS and corrupting a RabbitMQ state file.

RabbitMQ is a message queue that the main Revolt api-server depends on during startup. I followed the documented procedure to force boot it, which might have caused some data loss. RabbitMQ is not the main database, so loss should have been minimal (if any).

The cause of the initial throttling is still Gitea, which I have temporarily killed until I have more time to dig deeper into the resource utilization.

You can go back to using Revolt! Feel free to DM there if you have any questions. I hope to see some of you at the next Kirkland co-work and/or Seattle meetup.

Your server admin,
Mariano
