Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the trade show last?

Our audience is always together and follows a linear schedule each day:

  • The trade show is open between 1:30-3:00 p.m. and 6:00-7:30 p.m. This is true for all official days
  • The private chat server will be active 24/7
How's foot traffic?

We expect four hundred attendees for the physical track and a thousand for the online one. This is our best estimate based on ticket sales meaning actual attendance might be higher or lower, though not by much.

Can I preview the private chat server?

Upon request, we will grant you access to last year’s chat history so you can witness the caliber of engineers we attract for yourself.

What's the rationale behind pricing?

In 2022 we hosted our first ever trade show: physical job booths were 2k USD and virtual ones 600.00 USD. We now have a proven track record and an event coordinator to assist you, so we’ve raised the registration fee to 2.5K USD and 750.00 USD, respectively.

We intend to keep this fixed rate for years to come.

As an indie conference we remain ridiculously affordable compared to events of similar caliber (who are often sponsored, unlike us!) For example, PyCon charges $10k for a slot at their job fair.

We want to sponsor Handmade Seattle

We appreciate the offer! However, the biggest aspect of our brand is that we’re 100% indie and sponsor-free. Companies can rent a booth to hire Handmade people, but they cannot sponsor nor influence how the event itself is organized.
